Preparing the  Vegetables

¼ cup matchstick-cut carrots
¼ cup peeled and matchstick-cut daikon radish
¼ cup thinly sliced white onion
The Marinade
½ cup rice vinegar
¼ cup white sugar
¼ cup water
Cooking the Meat
Ingredients
1 skinless, boneless chicken breast half
1 pinch of garlic salt, or to taste
ground black pepper to taste
Assembling the Sandwich
Bánh mì
1 (12 inch) French baguette
¼ cup mayonnaise
¼ cup thinly sliced cucumber
1 tablespoon fresh cilantro leaves
1 small jalapeno pepper, cut into 1/16-inch-thick matchsticks
1 wedge lime


Gathering the Ingredients


The Baguette
Slice the baguette in half.
Carve out the soft center for the fillings.
Lightly toast the baguette in the broiler for about 2-3 minutes.


Vegetable-Vinegar Mixture
Drain the excess vinegar from the vegetable-vinegar mixture.


Assembling the Sandwich
Spread mayonnaise on each baguette.

Put the chicken on the bottom-sliced baguettes.

Top the chicken with the drained pickle vegetables, cucumber, cilantro, and jalapeno.
