Communication is an essential skill for any individual, especially an entrepreneur. This lesson discusses the communication processes and goes through different types of negotiations.

Hard Negotiation


The participants are there to resolve a dispute
The objective is to reach a sensible and effective agreement
Treat people’s issues and the dispute separately
Be gentle with people and tough in the dispute
Trust does not come into play
Concentrate on the interests in play and not on positions
Explore interests
Avoid relying on minimum requirements
Research solutions for mutual benefits
Get a result based on objective criteria and mutual concessions

Choose the correct features of Efficiency


Concentrate on aligning your goals and objectives WITHIN the context of available resources.
Promote open and transparent communication channels within your team.
Be flexible and open to new ideas- you never know when you'll find a gem!
Perseverance is the key.
In product development, analyse opportunities to automate, speed up, reduce costs, or otherwise reduce time and do things more quickly.
Always assess progress and re-visit plans to find room for innovation and improvement.
